Anavar Side Effects And Use Precautions For Men

Anavar Side Effects

If you’re someone who greatly enjoys working out and find that you have quite the social circle in gyms, you might have looked once or twice at steroids, or perhaps been offered them. If so, you’ve probably heard of Anavar and maybe even discussed Anavar side effects with your social circle.

Known as the “safest steroid on the market”, Anavar is a favorite among gym-goers that want the gains without any of the major nasty side effects.

However, “safest” doesn’t mean “safe. It’s true that it (probably) won’t increase your chances of a heart attack or a stroke in your later years, but it’s still got its problems. There are some that you may not know about and that could even have a lasting impact. Or perhaps you may be dissuaded by some of the most mild of side effects. Whichever the case, it’s important to know what the pills you put into your body can do to you.

Looking around online forums, Anavar’s reputation of being the safest amongst anabolic steroids makes some people ask the question of whether or not anavar increases testosterone levels.

So, we’re going to talk about Anavar side effects, particularly for men, including what Anavar is and the treatments you can take for any unexpected consequences.

What is Anavar?

Most gym goers will know Anavar as the steroids you can use to boost your workout routine without having to deal with some of the more serious consequences. It has a cycle that is easy to learn, and for those who are fairly knowledgeable with steroids and fitness, they have a good idea of its intended effects on the body and how much you are supposed to take. They also have it in their head that it’s fairly safe, which is somewhat true.

You’re probably not going to be surprised to learn that Anavar is actually medicine, and a kind that’s not intended for bodybuilding. Oxandrolone is the official name for Anavar. It’s an androgen and anabolic steroid that is commonly used to help people gain weight. It can also assist in recovery from injuries like severe burns, as well as treating bone pain.

Also important to note is that Anavar is a controlled substance in some countries, which does include the United States. This means you’re going to need a doctor to prescribe it, but you’re going to have a tough time finding a practitioner who is willing to prescribe it for fitness purposes. Because of that, most find Anavar through their connections. It’s not something that the police are going to break down your door for, but it’s still enough to deter some people.

Anavar Side Effects

Side effects are always worth looking at when considering a new drug, especially a steroid that is being taken without a doctor’s prescription.

Learning how to use Anavar, knowing the cycles and the correct dosage is curcial to  minimise the side effects.

It’s important to know that side effects vary from person to person, as well as the range of dose and the time span in which you’re taking it. You’re not going to lose all your hair from one go around with Anavar. The longer you take Anavar and the higher the dosage is, however, the more likely you’re going to get one of these side effects.

While some are rarer than others, here are some side effects you can expect from Anavar:

  • Changes in sexual health. This can mean a multitude of things. Oftentimes you’ll see a boost in your libido, but it can also go down. You can also have difficulty with fertility. Anavar is already a danger for making women infertile, and this problem can also affect men.
  • Testicular shrinkage. This is a common unfortunate side effect in steroids where your testicals can atrophy. This can greatly reduce your overall testosterone levels.
  • Lower testosterone. When taking testosterone in high amounts and for long periods of time, you can expect your testosterone levels begin to drop. Bringing your testosterone back up after stopping a cycle can take a long time. Sometimes it can be down for the long-term, and in very rare cases, it can be shut down permanently. Testosterone, or the male sex hormone, is important for a multitude of reasons, but it also helps you gain more muscle and keeps your bones strong.
  • Oily skin and acne. This is fairly common with steroids. Bad skin is a pain, but it can be solved with a good skincare routine.
  • Hair loss. Hair loss is normal for all steroids. Anavar is made from dihydrotestosterone (DHT), and DHT overproduction is known to cause hair loss.
  • Nausea/vomiting. Long-term usage of Anavar can cause nausea and vomiting to become a chronic issue.
  • Headaches. Headaches from Anavar can be excruciating, and can still appear days and even weeks after discontinuing. This could be because of a multitude of reasons, and if you’re experiencing them chronically, you should visit a doctor.
  • Kidney damage. Your kidneys are what processes Anavar. This puts more strain on them than other areas, and if you end up overdosing, you can do some serious damage to your kidneys.
  • Liver toxicity. Anavar can cause a disease called Peliosis Hepatis. It causes cysts to form in the liver which can lead to liver dysfunction and even liver failure.

Even though Anavar side effects do exist, you’re going to hear the term “safest steroid on the market” thrown around a lot. It’s not a lie, per se, as it is indeed a safer bet, but ultimately, it’s up to you to evaluate the potential side effects and decide whether or not you want to use Anavar for your workouts.

Who Should Not Take Anavar?

Why You Should Not Take Anavar

When considering Anavar as your choice of steroid, there are some things you need to be aware of before you take them, and that includes whether or not you should even be taking them. Again, Anavar is a controlled substance, so there are people more vulnerable to it than others.

While Anavar isn’t intended for bodybuilding, the drug should not be taken by people who:

  • Are trying to have a child
  • Have breast cancer
  • Have prostate cancer
  • Have an acute renal injury
  • Deal with excessive blood calcium levels (hypercalcemia)
  • Are allergic to Anavar

It’s also important to mention that people do get addicted to steroids, and Anavar is no different. If you have a history of addiction, it’s something to keep in mind.

Treatment For Low Testosterone

Low testosterone - a side effect of using anavar

One of the biggest concerns males have with their Anavar side effects is the lowered testosterone. For that, there is indeed treatment for it. One of them is called “post-cycle therapy”, or PCT. It helps you regain your testosterone, which can be extremely slow to recover based on how much and how long you took Anavar for. Some

May even need to take Hormone Replacement Therapy, or HRT, in order to make up for the loss of the male sex hormone.

If you feel as though you’re experiencing something a little more serious, like liver toxicity or kidney damage, you need to stop taking Anavar immediately. Talk to your doctor, and don’t stay quiet about what you’re taking. It will only help them understand what’s going ok with your health.

Lastly, if you think you’re experiencing an addiction to Anavar, then you need to seek professional help. A rehab center, perhaps. Anavar is considered safer than most steroids, but it can and will do damage to your body if taken too much and for too long.

Final Thoughts

No matter the benefits or side effects of Anavar, in the end, it’s always your choice. My aim was not to dissuade you, but to help you make an informed decision. If you decide to proceed with taking Anavar anyway, then more power to you. Some people just want to get their dream physique without having to spend years sculpting that look, and that’s fair. If you decide to pass up on Anavar, then I wish you all the best in finding your gains.

As a potential alternative, I recommend trying out anvarol first before jumping on the bandwagon of anabolic steroids. Here is our anvarol review, and a comparison between anvarol and anavar.

No matter what, though, just remember to stay safe, always do your warm up exercises before your workouts, and stay hydrated.
